Awning windows open outwards providing you with great ventilation regardless the weather. Compression seal adds energy-efficiency and crank handle make it easy to operate.
Awning windows in Canada are hinged at the top so the bottom opens outward. When open fully, they look like an awning, hence their name. They are very similar to casement windows but, unlike casement windows, awning windows do not open on the sides. The width of an awning window is greater than the height so they are generally smaller than other window styles.
Awning Windows Toronto
The small size makes them the ideal window style to install in smaller spaces or rooms where other window types don’t work. Awning windows work well in kitchens or bathrooms where window access is limited. They are also the perfect window for top room or high-wall installations.
Awning windows are popular because they are highly versatile in style and construction. Awnings are great for all weather types because they keep rain and other adverse systems out while still allowing for natural in-home ventilation. When closed, awning windows in Canada have a natural tight seal so they protect your home from drafts or air leakage.
Awnings fit almost every home style because they can be custom-designed to compliment your home’s exterior and personal taste. The single sash can be divided into multi-pane pattern with frame appliques to create a stylish look to your windows. Frames are made of aluminum, vinyl, wood, or fiber glass with double or triple pane window options.
Awning windows in Canada protect your home from intruders even when open. When fully open, the narrow opening makes it impossible for someone to get through. Because they can be installed higher than other windows, awnings are difficult to reach. With the unlimited options available to homeowners, awning windows remain one of the most popular styles in window replacement.Price: Starting From $199

This operator will provide a full 90 degrees of window opening and disconnects easily from the sash for cleaning.
This operator features a peak operating torque approximately 28% lower than Truth’s Traditional Single Arm Operators (depending on mounting location).
The Full-Flip Handle design is engineered to help maintain its “open” position without retracting in on itself during operation. The handle provides smooth operation with a more contemporary look when nested and allows for easy screen removal without removing the crank.

Energy Efficiency Values
Umet = U-value (W/m_ – K) – The lower the number, the more energy efficient the product.
Uimp = U-value (Btu/h*ft2*F) – The lower the number, the more energy efficient the product.
SHGC = Solar Heat Gain Coefficient – The higher the number, the higher the solar gain.
ER = Energy Rating (W/m2 or dimensionless) – The higher the number, the more energy efficient the product.
The ER (Energy Rating) format was changed to all positive numbers (dimensionless) in October, 2004 by CSA (Canadian Standards Association) to address consumer confusion over negative numbers. The older format had a mixture of negative and positive numbers (W/m2). In our listings, all ER numbers that appear in the older format are shown in bold coloured type. An approximate conversion to the new format can be made by adding 33 to these numbers.
